Camera Upgrade - Sony A7iii
For the past 7 years I’ve been able to use an assortment of cameras. First was my family’s little point-and-shoot Fujifilm camera. A couple of years later my photography teacher, Candi, loaned me her Nikon D300 with all the toppings... lenses, filters, tripod, external flash, ect… This will always be a point in my life that I’ll remember and be thankful for. I’m still kinda’ floored she trusted a clumsy, accident prone teenager with such equipment! I didn’t take it for granted. It blazed a fire in me to push harder into photography and imagery.
Before the Nikon. I had used a Canon XHA1, and my brothers Panasonic camcorder. I started learning a lot of video techniques and video editing with those cameras.
Another year later, the LUMIX G7. (A powerhouse little 4/3rds sensor and 4K).
2017, Sony RX10M3. (Crazy amount of zoom and great for both photo and cinematic type video).
2018, GoPro Session 5. (Awesome little action camera).
2020, Sony A7iii (My first Sony full frame camera!).
I’ve only had the Sony A7iii for a few days now. I love everything about it. Very good quality and versatility! The goal is to eventually get it decked out with more lenses, filters, a gimbal setup, mics, and a monitor.
A simple quote that I really like is this: “The best camera is the one you have with you.”
